Spring is almost here! Start thinking about new spring outfits, and of course new jewelry to go with your updated wardrobe!

First of all we'd like to announce the winner of our Bedminster Grand Opening raffle - Pat Linny of Basking Ridge! Pat won a Ladies' Night for 4 at our Bedminster location! Pat and her friends will enjoy an evening of jewelry making for a fun night out. Congratulations, Pat!

Kids' Afterschool Workshop

We now offer after school workshops for kids 9-16 at both Summit and Bedminster locations! If your child or teenager has expressed interest in making jewelry, the after school workshop is a great way to introduction to the art of jewelry making. Each month through May, we offer weekly 1-hour workshops covering specific skills and/or projects. The cost is $35 and includes all materials, use of tools, expert instruction and a finished piece of jewelry. You can sign up for one or more classes. If you purchase 4 classes, you save $20!

Camp BeadLuxe

Registration for our popular summer camp has started! If you have a child or teenager, age 8 and up, Camp BeadLuxe this summer is the perfect place to learn to make jewelry.

This year we have added new features to our camps for new and returning campers. For 3 select weeks, the camps will be themed-based. The kids will still learn professional techniques, basic arts color and design concepts and have plenty of practice opportunities. In addition, the themes will provide an added challenge of having camp participants design jewelry around a theme. The themes this year are Gypsy Girl, Glamour Girl and Surfer Girl. We will discuss color choice, design style and design inspiration and really get the girls to think outside of the box and be creative. On the last day of each week, we will have a "show" of all the participants' work on display for family and friends to view, and we will have light refreshments for all. This will give each artist an opportunity to showcase their work, as well as, give families and friends a chance to meet our talented camp instructors.

For the last week of camp in August in our Summit store only, we will offer PROJECT BeadLuxe which will be fun and a challenge to intermediate and advance participants. During this special week, we will ask participants to design a 3-piece collection as their final project. The participants will be treated as aspiring jewelry designers and will be given design challenges that will hone their technical skills and refine their design skills. Their work will receive constructive critiques from BeadLuxe head designers and invited local jewelry designers. On the last day of camp, friends and family will be invited to view the "show" and meet their newly minted jewelry designers!

The camps run Tuesday-Thursday from 11:30am-3:00pm at both Summit and Bedminster locations. The cost (plus tax) of Beginner's camp is $185.50 and the Intermediate/Advanced camp is $238.50. Register before May 1st and receive a 10% discount. Each camper receives a Camp BeadLuxe t-shirt and will take home their jewelry creations on the last day of camp. Adult Classs Schedule

This month we are offering 2 Basic Beading classes and 2 Dangle Necklace classes for the intermediate/advanced skilled. To sign up in Summit, call (908)598-9111. In Bedminster, call (908)901-9800.

In Basic Beading, you will learn the basics of jewelry, the technique of crimping, and design. You will have plenty of opportunities to practice the technique before completing your necklace. There is no instruction fee, only the cost of your necklace ($30 and up).

Bedminster: March 8, Thursday

Noon-1:30pm and 7-8:30pm

The Dangle Necklace project requires Basic Beading and Wire Working skills. In this class, you will create a multi-dangled necklace using wire-working techniques. Basic design concepts will be covered, as well as, wire working review. There is no instruction fee, only the cost of materials ($90 and up depending on beads).

Bedminster: March 22, Thursday
Noon-1:30pm or 7-8:30pm
Summit: March 23, Friday
Noon-1:30pm and 7-8:30pm

In April, we will offer Wire Working classes and a class on making the Mother's Name bracelet. Please check our website, www.beadluxe.com for more information on our upcoming classes. We also offer private lessons for individuals or groups, please call the stores for details.

New Beads

New beads are arriving into our stores and will continue to come in over the next few months. We'll also be increasing our stock of beading tools and supplies for sale this month. Many of you have asked us to carry seed beads for sale, and we are expecting to have them in this month also. Thanks for your patience!
